The Cork 32 County Sovereignty Movement held our annual Vol. Denis Spriggs commemoration today alongside Denis’s Family.
Denis was (despite the reported age on the plaque) a 17 year old volunteer of the Irish Republican Army who was tortured, castrated and had his cheeks sliced open before being shot and left with his genitalia in his mouth in a savage and brutal act of reprisal carried out by British forces.
We remember Denis's sacrifice with honour and pride.
